NSCS Outcome

As part of the course you have participated in a Negotiation Skills Capability Survey. The outcomes of the survey help Scotwork to understand the challenges that Avebe has as a group and will finetune the course and negotiation cases accordingly.

Below you will find the outcome of the survey. Keep in mind that the outcome is an average of the group, individual scores may be different.

The report focuses on nine areas of negotiating and compares the results of the respondents with those of thousands of negotiators in hundreds of businesses in 23 geographical areas around the world. We have taken these global results in each of the nine areas and used them, together with over 40 years’ experience of teaching negotiating to identify negotiating "Best Practice" – the standard we would expect from negotiators who are the best that we encounter in our regular work with our many clients.

We have compared the result from the Avebe respondents in the survey to best practice and identified areas of development focus for you to consider with your Scotwork consultant where we believe that development would provide benefits in improved negotiating capability and outcomes for the business.

For ease of reference, each of the nine areas of negotiating is summarised on a separate page and the answers to the survey are categorised as Green, Amber or Red.

Green indicates that the responses to the survey were broadly in accordance with what we consider to be best practice.

Amber indicates that the responses to the survey suggest that there are likely to be specific areas of negotiating behaviour or practice which could be changed and would be likely to lead to an improved approach to negotiating and to better outcomes.

Red indicates that the negotiating behaviour or practice reported by the respondents to the survey fails to meet best practice in such a way that the approach to negotiating reported is likely to give rise to problems, deadlock or sub-optimal outcomes. Experience tells us that this standard of negotiating is likely to prove costly to your business both financially and in its relationships.
